Ekphrasis

As a doctoral student in Educational Leadership, Olena M. Marshall has created several art projects by drawing directly on doctoral coursework in the Politics of Schooling, Philosophy of Ethics in Education, and Curriculum Discourses and Perspectives. She is interested in creating works that explicate academic writing through visual arts, in a practice that can be described by the Greek concept of "ekphrasis," broadly interpreted to mean the representation of ideas expressed in one medium by means of another.
